The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has called a special meeting to discuss how the tram industry will move forward following the Croydon tram crash in November 2016.

London and Southeastern (LSER) and Wetton Cleaning Services Limited (Wettons) have today been fined £2.5m and £1.1m respectively in a prosecution brought by the Office of Rail and Road, following the death of a cleaner three years ago.

The Office of Rail and Road (ORR) has today published research showing that the majority of passengers using travel assistance are satisfied or very satisfied with the help they receive, however more needs to be done to improve the reliability, consistency and awareness of assistance available.

ORR has concluded its review of Southern train’s customer service for passengers needing help using trains, which has led to changes in Southern’s processes.
