ORR statement welcoming the Shaw Report on Network Rail

ORR Chief Executive Joanna Whittington said:

The Shaw Report sets an ambitious agenda for the future shape and financing of Network Rail which will benefit the whole of the railway.

We welcome recommendations which focus on ensuring the needs of local passengers and businesses are at the heart of the sector, and which reinforce the relationship Network Rail has with its customers.

We look forward to working alongside Network Rail, governments, and industry partners to implement recommendations for the benefit of future users and funders, as we develop the regulatory framework for the railways for 2019 to 2024.
