Network Rail was today fined £200,000 with £86,000 costs after being convicted of one offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act.

London Underground Limited and Balfour Beatty Rail Limited were today fined £100,000 & £333,000 respectively, after pleading guilty to breaking health and safety laws which led to a worker suffering life-changing injuries, in a prosecution brought by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

DB Cargo (UK) Ltd has today been convicted after a four-week trial of one offence under the Health and Safety at Work etc Act, following a prosecution by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).

Engineering company, Babcock Rail Limited, has today been fined £400,000 for breaching of health and safety laws which led to a rail worker suffering injuries while renewing rail track in Flintshire, north-east Wales, two years ago. This follows a prosecution brought by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR).
