Review of vegetation management - Report by ARUP dated 30 September 2022

This Independent Reporter’s (IR) review was undertaken by Arup to evaluate the effectiveness of Network Rail’s vegetation management practice and how Network Rail is planning for Control Period CP7 ahead of the next periodic review PR23. Arup made 13 recommendations in the review report. 

Network Rail responded to the review with:

• A proposal to combine some IR recommendations together to deliver the required improvements in development of management plans, central Lineside policy, Network Rail standards and competence framework to support vegetation and habitat management; and
• Rejections to IR recommendations #25932/09, #25932/10, #25932/12 and #25932/13 with justifications of ongoing works being progressed by Network Rail or improvement to be made under other IR recommendations above.
