Passenger, workforce and public safety
Below are the figures of how many injuries occurred on the railways in Britain in the last year. We publish these figures annually by person type (passengers, public and workforce) and by type of injury, including fatalities.
Public injuries include injuries suffered by people that are neither a passenger or working on the railways. This category includes people who trespass for whichever reason.
Detailed figures on injuries can be downloaded from our data portal. The latest overview of rail safety figures can be found on our statistical releases page. Older releases can be found in the archive of statistical releases.
