Station access

We regulate access to stations by approving station access agreements in accordance with the provisions set out under the Railways Act 1993

Network Rail owns the freehold to the vast majority of the approximately 2,500 railway stations in Great Britain.

Most stations are leased to and operated by one or other of the franchised passenger train operating companies.

Network Rail operates the major stations, comprising:

  • London Cannon Street;
  • London Charing Cross;
  • London Euston;
  • London Fenchurch Street;
  • London King's Cross;
  • London Liverpool Street;
  • London Bridge;
  • London Paddington;
  • London St. Pancras (domestic);
  • London Victoria;
  • London Waterloo;
  • Birmingham New Street;
  • Edinburgh Waverley;
  • Glasgow Central (High Level);
  • Leeds;
  • Liverpool Lime Street; and
  • Manchester Piccadilly.
